As this department is the nerve-centre in the entire hotel operations, therefore, we have a separate lab where students are given practical sessions on dealing and greeting the guests, check-in & check-out procedures of the hotels, register maintaining, etc.
Training Restaurant & Bar
This is the place where the future hospitality managers learn nuances of Food and Beverage Service. They are taught how to handle & supervise diversified events in hotel industry & corporate sectors. The ambience and theme are those of a real-life restaurant where students learn table-setting, order-taking and all other types of food service. Every student under the guidance of an expert faculty is with precision taken through the intricate steps of bar making. International & National cocktails/mocktails and servicing of beverages is demonstrated perfectly.
Housekeeping Lab
Housekeeping is the backbone of the Hotel Industry. It is responsible for cleanliness, maintenance and aesthetic appeal of the Industry. The versatility of the Housekeeping department generates countless opportunities for young professionals in the lodging industry. The range of skills required of a Housekeeper is so extensive that it can be mastered only after years of on-the-job training. So, the students are subjected to practical training in the training house-keeping room.
The IT Lab
Kukreja Institute has its own computer learning outlet equipped with latest information technology equipment so as to enable its students to use technology as a learning resource. The IT lab is designed with the facilty of one to one computer-student ratio. This facility has provided an opportunity to the students to fully understand the use of computers as an educational tool. The lab is well connected to internet and the students can explore cyberspace to gain valuable data & information.
Conference Cum Board Room
With a seating arrangement of 30 people, this conference hall is equipped with the state-of-the-art audio-visual aids. This is where the student-faculty and Parents-teacher interaction takes place. All placement related activities are also conducted here. It is also equipped with a 54 inch plasma TV, DVD and the best of audio system.
AV Room
A dedicated area for audio and video editing is equipped with hi-end machines and latest software.
Textile Lab
The textiles lab is fully equipped with dyeing and printing equipments, microscopes, digi-wash and testers like crease recovery, Abrasion, Twist, Drape, stiffness and pilling. Students get an opportunity to experiment with various kinds of dyes and chemicals to create variances in dyeing and printing.
Pattern Making/Sewing Lab
The labs are fully furnished with layout of industrial machinery so that the students are acquainted with the functioning of the industry. The sewing lab also has pattern making tables where the layout of pattern can be done in an organized manner.
Green Room
The institution has fully advanced and spacious room for shooting raw footages later to be used for compositing and editing purpose.
Library
The well stocked library has a rich collection of over 6,000 books covering wide range of study material on Hospitality and Tourism Management. It is also equipped with national and international journals, CD-ROMS, dailies and periodicals covering all aspects of academics and research material. The general reading section includes magazines from sports, history, fine arts, politics etc. A photocopy machine placed in the Library adds to the convenience of the students. The books are frequently updated so that the students get an insight into the latest trends in the industry. Students are encouraged to utilize the facility to the maximum.
Hostel Life
At Kukreja’s we believe in providing our inmates with a home environment. Our shared rooms are well equipped with all basic amenities like power back-up, water heaters and a round the clock security system. Our hostels are at walking distance from the institute. The in house pantry ensures that the students relish variety of hygienic cuisines.
Kitchen
The entire kitchen is well planned in terms of space utilization and work flow and has an extremely good exhaust system. All the equipments are in compliance to industry norms. Here students acquire the required knowledge, skills and attitude to become professional chefs. Along with the basic training students are also trained in the required skills of food production in a professional environment. Here students learn different international cuisines like Continental, Italian, Spanish, Oriental, etc. along with kitchen planning and management.
